Scott’s exceptional talent began to become apparent during his time at the Wests Tigers. Scott starred at the Wests Tigers, becoming captain of the club and making his debut for Queensland and Australia during his time at the club. He was selected as the Maroons halfback for all 3 games of the 2004 State of Origin series.

Scott also captained Wests Tigers to their inaugural grand final win in 2005. The 2005 championship was made even sweeter when Scott was awarded the Clive Churchill Medal for Man of the Match performance in the team’s 30-16 victory over old club the North Queensland Cowboys. That year he also became the first player from the joint venture Tigers club to earn an Australian representative debut.

The following year, he played in the 2006 World Club Challenge, captaining the Tigers to 10-30 loss to the Bradford Bulls.
